“After having regular private coaching with Chris and attending his group jump clinics, I had my best season on my pony, Shamrock Fionn, last year coming second at Pontispool, sixth at Millfield regional Final and placing in seven of the eight events we entered (BE80T).

Our weakest phase had been the dressage, but at Millfield we achieved our lowest ever dressage score of 26.8. Fingers crossed, with Chris’ help, we will qualify for the BE80T championships at Burghley Horse Trials this year!

I have been so impressed by his patience, calm instructional manner and his keen eye for detail. He was able to instinctively notice and correct mistakes I was making which quickly helped me to improve and gain confidence. His exercises are imaginative and testing for both the horse and rider, but at the same time great fun. I would highly recommend Chris.”

“After asking around the horse community for someone to train and compete Red, my 17hh heavy hunter, for affiliated dressage and country showing, Chris’ name came up many times with great reviews.

I found Chris to be understanding, respectful, patient and determined. I loved to watch him ride so professionally and he and Red (Drumaun Emperor) were placed at every outing, winning BD at Crofton Manor, Moreton, and Kingston Maurward with scores in the region of 70%.

Chris was also placed at the Royal Bath & West Show. I highly recommend Chris in all aspects of equine training.”

“My daughter, Molly Hayward, has been coached by Chris for the last two years.

His level of knowledge and experience has brought Molly and her pony from strength to strength and in 2019 they achieved placings at every event. The list is endless but included first place in Pony Club Regionals 80cm eventing at Nunney, fourth at 90cm NSEA Championships; and placings at novice dressage!

Molly now has a new event horse and we are using Chris to school it and coach the new partnership so that they can reach their full potential.”

Chris trained and competed my mare, Pacha, at BE100 for a short time when I was having problems in the dressage phase. Soon after I achieved a score of 27.8 at Bicton International.

He is calm, helpful and keen to help give you the tools that a rider needs to take the reins and progress to the next level.

Chris spontaneously stopped to help me in the warm up arena at an event when I was having difficulty with Barney, my new green event horse, and I am thrilled that he will be schooling Barney at his new event yard while I’m on holiday this year.
